A unique Nordic Winter Wonderland has arrived in Lincoln.
The new Christmas experience saw two giant tipis set up in the Cornhill, where they will remain throughout the festive season.
Open from November 14 to December 31, THOR’s Tip Bar will be a place to relax with friends and take the children for special themed activity days.
Amanda Monaghan, co-founder of THOR’S tipi, explains: “THOR’S tipi bar brings an original Viking-inspired Christmas experience to city centres across the UK.
“With two giant Scandinavian tipis to call home, THOR’S striking exterior and beautiful twinkling winter garden is the perfect place to celebrate Christmas with family and friends.
“Once inside, you’ll be transported to a Scandinavian-style Christmas, with a roaring log fire, warm blankets and cosy snug seating.”
Local craft ales, mulled wine, indulgent hot chocolate, and Prosecco are among the drinks on offer.
Inspired by the Sami people of Lapland, the interiors of the tipis are adorned with festive greenery and dressed with Viking inspired elements.
“There’ll be ambient music playing throughout the tipis and we will be hosting our Little Viking Clubs on Sunday mornings,” adds Amanda.
“Here, your little ones can enjoy listening to Norse stories, colouring in and making Viking-inspired swords and shields.”
Now the waiting is over Maria Farrugia, executive producer for Lunchbox Theatrical Productions Limited, the company behind the project, says she is thrilled to finally see Thor’s set up in the city.
Maria explained: “I’m really excited. We started in York and it was a huge success and I’ve been wanting to bring the same experience here, so when Lincoln BIG asked us to come I was over the moon. I’ve really, really wanted to bring this to Lincoln.
“I’m sure Lincoln will love it. We’ve had so much support from everyone and even while we’ve been setting up people have been asking if they can come in and saying how fantastic it looks.
“The atmosphere is always amazing because of the way the seating in it brings people together.
“The piece de resistance is the open log fire and once you get seated around it you’re there for the night because you just don’t want to move.
“We are passionate about what we do and we want this to be an experience for everyone that…
