Coastal Carolina wins 2016 College World Series over Arizona –

Severe weather in Omaha, Nebraska caused Game Three of the College World Series to be postponed from its original Wednesday night start time. Fortunately, for the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, it did not wash away their chance at history as they were able to win the school’s first national championship in any sport on Thursday afternoon with a 4-3 victory over the Arizona Wildcats.

The sixth inning proved to be the most critical frame as, with the score tied 0-0, Coastal Carolina scored two runs on an error by Arizona second baseman Cody Ramer. Later in the inning, Coastal Carolina DH G.K. Young hit a massive home run to right field to give them a 4-0 lead they would never relinquish.
