Corsicana man wins 2017 Empower Texans Conservative Leader Award | News

Ralph Gonzalez was named one of 15 winners of the 2017 Conservative Leader Award. The awards were presented at the Empower Texans Conservative Leaders Gala held Saturday in Irving.

The fourth annual Conservatives Leaders Gala brought together more than 500 conservative activists and leaders from across the state, each recognized for their tireless efforts to advance the cause of conservatism. Gonzalez said he was “shocked and humbled by the honor, I’m not comfortable accepting praise. I’m a fortunate member of great teams.”

“This honor was made even more memorable because my daughter Elena was able to witness it,” Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez was nominated for the award by Chris Woolsey, chairman of the Navarro County Conservatives.

Texas Agricultural Commissioner Sid Miller said, “Without Ralph Gonzalez and others, public officials wouldn’t be able to do what we do. Gonzalez is the third recipient of the Conservative Leaders Award from Navarro County, joining Jackie King and Carol Doucet as past winners.

President and CEO of Empower Texans Michael Quinn Sullivan thanked those in attendance for their continued vigilance towards the cause of freedom.
