Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse in Newport Beach launches $4 million makeover – Orange County Register

At first glance, the construction at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in Newport Beach might worry longtime fans.

The patio is closed, but the restaurant and bar remain open as the Fashion Island steak house embarks on a major makeover. The $4 million remodel at the flagship Fleming’s restaurant, which turns 20 next year, is the first of many refreshes occurring throughout the chain.

A remodel is also expected at the El Segundo restaurant.

Changes include enlarging the patio and redecorating the entire restaurant. Everything from the private dining rooms to the bar will be renovated. Construction has temporarily limited seating for the restaurant’s popular “Five Six Seven” happy hour, which many diners enjoy on the patio.

But once the renovation is complete in late October, seating in the patio will quadruple in size to 65 seats.
