Giovanna Ambrusco, a passionate dream-chaser, has completed her new book “Finding My Voice”: an encouraging and inspiring book on the author’s personal testimony featured through an interview that takes into account the challenges she has faced in her journey of following her passions in America.
Author Ambrusco speaks of the depression she has felt in a new country, far from her main family: “When I was first in this country, time was silent. I had nobody, very silent. When my daughter was born, I dropped into a depression, and I finally came out of that. My husband’s family was good to me, they came to see me, and I used to cry and cry. I was dreaming that I saw a lady on the stage jumping and then she came to my house. I heard her on the stairs. Thump, thump, thump. She was coming up, jumping on my bed, picking up my daughter, and taking her away. ‘No, no!’ I screamed. I took such a depression, very depressed. I was completely alone with a little one. I had nobody in my life, nobody, just my aunt, Elizabeth, my mother’s cousin. She used to call me every day, ‘Giovanna, how are you doing?’ Only a few people cared to ask how I was doing. I missed my mother and my family. I felt so alone and overwhelmed with taking care of my daughter alone.”
