New exhibit on ‘Minimalism’ opens at Crafton Hills College – Redlands Daily Facts

Works from 24 Southern California artists are now on display at Crafton Hills College in a first-time collaboration between the college and the Inland Empire Museum of Art.

The exhibit — “From Abstraction to Minimalism” — is a “survey of modernist ideas” that curators hope expands viewers’ understanding of abstract art, said co-curator and Crafton student Yadira Dockstader in a news release.

“The artworks cover a period from 1960 to today,” she said. “The work presented is an exploration of mediums via shapes and forms with a composition. A spectator could see a progression of ideas and how the figuration gets into the abstraction.”
