New Fitbit Products Will Connect Every Workout

The new Fitbit Ionic is the brand’s first true smartwatch, and it’s designed (unsurprisingly) with fitness needs in mind. The Ionic features a 4+ day battery life depending on usage, automatic activity and sleep tracking, and cross-platform compatibility. For the Ionic, Fitbit has developed and implemented the new SpO2 sensor, which includes GPS tracking, on-device dynamic workouts, and improved heart rate tracking. The Ionic is also waterproof to 50 meters. Fitbit expects to added features to provide more detailed health information (like tracking sleep apnea) in the future.

Fitbit’s new Flyer wireless headphones integrate with the Ionic watch, and are designed to withstand your most intense workouts. The Flyer headphones feature a durable, sweatproof design and customizable fit. A hydrophobic coating helps repel sweat and water. According to Fitbit, the new headphones charge in approximately 15 minutes.

Fitbit has incorporated sound technology from Waves MaxxAudio, and the Flyer headphones offer two sound profiles. Seamless connectivity to the Ionic watch means access to Pandora, your favorite playlists, and Fitbit’s new Audio Coaching sessions.

Here’s the workout all cyclists need when they’re not riding:

The new Fitbit Coach app, a paid subscription service, provides customized analysis of health data and work-out programs. This is an update and rebranding of Fitbit’s current FitStar Personal Trainer app, and can be tailored to reach your specific health and fitness goals. New Audio Coaching sessions will be also available in the fall to help you through your workouts.

This coming winter, Fitbit plans to launch a new Guided Health Program, which will provide step-by-step guidance, personalized insights, and rewards to provide positive feedback for achieving fitness goals.

The final element of Fitbit’s expanded line-up is a new Wi-Fi smart scale, the Fitbit Aria 2. The scale has been updated to provide best-in-class accuracy and Fitbit has improved the design. The Aria 2 sets up easily with a Bluetooth connection and allows tracking of body composition. With the Aria 2, Fitbit aims to help you better achieve your weight, nutrition, and health goals.
