We Are TV Launches the First AR Game to Play with Television Shows

With more than 90% of television viewers tuning into their favorite shows with their mobile device in hand, both consumers and television networks have been clamoring for new ways to create interaction between the screen that is being watched and the screen that is being swiped.

We Are TV is launching today to meet that demand with the first-generation of its AR mobile game being released on both iTunes and Google Play. The first-generation We Are TV gaming experience, developed in Unity, enables viewers to express their show feedback in real-time and earn points by tossing virtual objects such as We Are TV balls, hearts, tomatoes or cartoon bombs at 3D animated characters that appear and move within the augmented viewing experience. The AR characters viewers see on screen are based on show categories such as sports, news, and cooking.

Gamers can earn badges for watching and engaging with types of shows or being a recurring viewer of a specific program. In addition, they can alert their friends and family when they are watching something and convey their thoughts on the show in real-time with their game engagement.
