Where do celebrities go skiing?

It’s no secret that celebrities love the slopes – whether it’s because they can put on a helmet and pair of goggles and easily blend in with the common folk in the chairlift queue, or because they can splash the cash on luxury chalets and private jets.

From politicians to royalty, reality television stars and A-list actors, the world’s slopes are awash with celebrities and their families.

It was only last season when Prince William hit the headlines after that Dad-dancing incident in Verbier, and the Trump clan reportedly took 100 security staff on their jaunt to Aspen.

To help you sniff out the big names, luxury chalet company Firefly Collection has put together a map of the ski resorts where you’re most likely to spot celebs on the slopes.

Using a rating scale of ice cold to red hot to determine the number of celebrities likely to visit each resort, the results have been presented in a series of easy-to-understand infographics.

So if you fancy channelling your inner Lady Gaga in Park City or retracing Emma Watson’s tracks in Méribel, you can now pinpoint their favourite winter spots and book your own celeb-inspired getaway.

Resorts included on the list include a handful of Colorado’s most popular destinations, such as Aspen, Snowmass, Vail, Beaver Creek and Jackson Hole, as well as Park City in Utah and California’s Mammoth Mountain.

A little closer to home, Europe’s biggest names are most likely to head to the likes of Courchevel in the Trois Vallées and Switzerland’s finest resorts such as St Moritz, Zermatt and Klosters.

Verbier comes out top as the resort most likely to be visited by celebrities, and with a plethora of luxury chalets to choose from, plus some of the world’s most varied and challenging terrain, it’s easy to see why.

The resort is famously popular with the likes of Pippa Middleton and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with Madonna; Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York; and members of the sporting elite, including World Cup-winning rugby player Lawrence Dallaglio.

The most likely country to bump into an A-lister in is the USA, with many American celebrities opting to stay on their side of the pond for their winter holiday.

If you’d prefer not to brush shoulders with the big names and their entourage in the self-service queue at lunch than Austria seems to be a celeb-free haven, with only a handful of names including Claudia Schiffer and John Travolta visiting. Italy is also…
